Day 9 - Thu 11 Apr: Dubbo

11-24 degC
Walk: 12km (Greg)

Warmer this morning so we didn't stay in bed so long, about 10 mins shorter! The day did not look so good at first, but it soon turned into a lovely one with plenty of sunshine.

Whilst Wendy stayed at home and did some domestic chores and admin, Greg went for a walk - a very long walk. He returned home in time for lunch, with a bit of foam to fix the bed from sloping downwards at the head end. We fitted that and just to see that it worked, we had an LLD. It does the job very nicely, thank you very much.

The rest of the afternoon was spent re-distributing some of the weight from the back of the van to the back of the ute, just because we think it might be a good idea. Wendy also spent a bit of time researching tow vehicles; Greg wants a Landcruiser wagon, whilst Wendy wants a Mazda/Izuzu/Ford single or extra cab ute of some description. After doing the research it seems that a Landcruiser is a waste of money as it cannot tow any more than the other vehicles and has a smaller payload. We have plenty of time to make a decision though and it could change at any moment!

Dinner was at the Dubbo Golf Club about 600m down the road. Greg's pick tonight and they have Asian, Thai and Australian menus. Greg had Asian and Wendy had Thai, washed down with an Oyster Bay Sav Blanc. Fat as fools we waddled home
