Day 17 - Fri 19 Apr: Wagga Wagga to Yass

15-23 degC
Drive: 189km
Walk: 2.6km
Ride: 6km
An early start for us this morning; we left about 7am! We had nice roads for the majority of the way but still chose to drive economically. The terrain was a bit lumpy today and we had a few B-Doubles that thought they could overtake us then died. So we overtook them then they overtook us on the down hill run, and so it went on for a few hills anyway; it kept Wendy amused!
We stopped in Gundagai for a pit stop more than anything, and to get another photo of the dog sitting on his box; he is still there! There was a small market happening and Wendy bought two dessert pies.
Next stop was here in Yass. We chose Yass as we are now onto plan F of our trip. Wendy's parents have put their house on the market and are having an open day on Sat about 12pm. We were due to arrive on Wed, but delayed our arrival due to the house showings. Yass is normally about a 3 hour drive however, due to holiday traffic, it may take longer. So, it will be perfect for us to leave about 8am, stop at Braidwood for breakfast/mornos, have a wander, then head down the hill to the beach.
After we had our breakfast/mornos, we went for a walk up and down the main street of Yass. Not much was open, so we could only window-shop which was unfortunate as there were many antique-type shops we would loved to have wandered through.
After an LLD, Greg went off exploring on the bike.
We had our dinner overlooking the Yass River.
