Day 8 - Wed 10 Apr: Dubbo

6 (feels like 3.3) - 23 degC
Ride: 14km

It became quite fresh about 8pm last night, so by 6am this morning it was VERY fresh - for us Queenslanders anyway. We turned the aircon to heat and lay back in bed for another 20 minutes until the van had heated up enough to venture out.

Wendy did the sheets today. Due to the size of the washing machine she had to do one sheet and one pillow case at a time. While that was happening we had our morning coffee and got ready to go for our ride.

We decided to to the Dubbo Regional Botanic Gardens and Shoyoen Japanese Gardens. We found them and had a wander; they were quite small for a Botanic Gardens but well done just the same. From there we made our way to the Western Plains Cultural Centre where we visited the Museum and then the Art Gallery. The museum was interesting with displays from both the First Peoples and also the White Settlers. The wagon that was used in the famous painting by George Lambert (NSW Art Gallery prize possession) Across the black soil plains. The art gallery was just as interesting with pieces called 'art' that were very dubious.

The worms were biting at that stage so it was a quick run home for lunch and a quick LLD before getting stuck into some more domestic duties before preparing the pizzas for dinner. Wendy's parents dropped in for a quick "hello" before heading off to their long-time friends for the next two nights.
To cook the pizzas we tried out the oven in our new van, and are happy to report the pizzas were as good as any other we've cooked. Dishes, blog, relaxing then sleep.

Another good day on the road.
